This Little Cutie Turns One Birthday Theme

MY BABY TURNED ONE!!! I cannot believe it. How did a year go by so quickly? Joey has been our little light during this pandemic. Just when I think I can't love him anymore, he gives me a look or starts to wiggle his butt and my heart melts all over again.

I could go on forever about Joey, but the reason I wanted to create this post is to share with you guys all of the details of our first birthday party! It was obviously much smaller than we wanted, but we made the best of it and had such a great time!

The Theme: This Little Cutie Turns One

Around Christmas I started looking around for themes I liked for first birthdays. There are so many cute ones, but many are overused. Nothing wrong with any of them but I wanted to find something a little more unique! I came across this theme and knew it was perfect! Joey loves oranges and it also allowed me to decorate how I wanted lol. Every year after this one is going to be superhero's & racecars so I wanted to pick this one!

Let's talk decorations. Etsy & Pinterest were my life savers for this one. Etsy had the cutest pre-made birthday decorations for our theme. I also picked up a super easy balloon garland that I hung around his high chair. I think I ended up spending around $100 for all decorations and his cute little crown. I also looked around on Pinterest for some random stuff like food & drink ideas.

Here is everything I bought!

A few other things I did to tie in the theme was buy greenery and some oranges. I added them all throughout the house and it looked so cute! I also put together a little cheese board and added orange slices :)

"Themed" cocktails are always so fun to make. Mostly, because they are pretty but I did find a recipe that that had oranges in it! Recipe is below and is pretty simple.

Italian Margaritas:

  • 1oz Tequila (100% agave)

  • 1oz Amaretto

  • 3oz orange juice

  • fresh squeeze lime

  • garnish with orange slice and sugar around the rim

Last thing I would recommend would be to buy an inexpensive Polaroid camera. You can also borrow from a friend! We used my sisters and it was fun to capture the day on polaroid's. We put a few in Joey's First Year book and the others will go in an album. I love how they turned out!

If you end up using this theme or anything from our party, tag me or DM me! I love seeing your posts and your support means the world to me!
